5 important blogs

7 June 2011
MPs warn over tuition fees funding gap
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-13667117

Like the poll tax up in Scotland or the smoking ban in a public place In Ireland, the start of the end of financial support is starting down in England. We students are going to have to support our selves financially, so the wealthy will be the only educated again, we will fall for that laissez faire again?
We as the citizens of “Great” Britain make out that we are the society, the power, the power to rule all because we did ages ago, but if we take this dramatic down-fall.
I feel this is the most important because this could be a turning point for Great Britain.

Ken Clarke clarifies 'serious rape' remarks
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/mobile/uk-13436429

A politician that influences the public and is supposedly influenced by the public suggested that we reduce rape charges to get these monsters to plea guilty. This would only reduce the amount of time spent in court after the police have managed to capture the criminals.
It’s just helping the criminals get back to what they do best, no “innocent” rapist is going to confess to go to prison, if the court case is for the rapists. The rapists are going to choose to get away with it and if the court case is against the rapist the system will just reduce their sentence.
I feel that this blog is important because I feel that rape is the worst, it can mark a victim for a life-time. This man of power, this ignorant man of power doesn’t respect the fear and shame brought by such a crime, fear and shame that only mark the victims, not the criminals that are getting treated like victims.

6 June 2011
while in police custody in Fife
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-13668781
A very brief blog on a possible suspicious case, did the man need help and was ignored? Did an abusive officer go too far? Will we find out? I believe this man will be forgotten about, this is our law. The law that we are given chosen knowledge about.
This is important to me because this man who died in prison died in Dunfermline police station. Living in Dunfermline and seeing the state that some people get into and to find out that they are not getting properly treated it should be a worry about the people who know and care about.

7th June 2011
Luke Mitchell's Supreme Court appeal bid refused
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-13672255
A man announced guilty for killing his girlfriend in 2003 was refused his bid for freedom. In a country that in my view has very little trust in the law and the system, a man who copied the gruesome killing of the black dahlia back in 1947 the original killer never been caught, this bid for freedom off the copycat could have started more killings, if he could kill his girlfriend, someone that boyfriend does through his choice (rather than a family member) and in such a vile way who knows what he could have continued. It would also set a bad example for the possible criminals of this country realising that the penalty for murder is so low.
Watching the news and seeing the death sentence going lower due to good behaviour in prison, to be soon put back into prison, as an innocent British citizen it’s good see that some justice is being continued.

9th June 2011
BBC documentary to show Helmand through soldiers' eyes
http://waronterrornews.typepad.com/home/2011/06/bbc-documentary-to-show-helmand-through-soldiers-eyes.html
As a citizen in this country we hear of either what war our soldiers are fighting in or how have many died at the cause of it, but finally we as the concerned British citizen will see actual real life footage of a soldier. No longer do we have to see a journalist with microphone in hand talking of the soldiers as strangers, now we can see and witness the soldier life in some of the deadliest places of the planet.
This is important to me, because it’s real, it is just words read from a piece of a paper or a blog from your computer screen, we are witnessing what these soldiers are doing day-in-day-out.

Liberty X just a little video ( I thought I would analyse a poor (quality) music video)

Okay first of all they’re stealing, stealing? Meh I’ve watched action movies.
They’re not wearing any balaclavas! They’re faces will be detected, it’s like this isn’t a real heist at all.
Another thing if this such a heist, shouldn’t some of the long-haired robbers being wearing hair nets?! Have they not watched CSI?! YEAAA ... no.

Why do they have canes? Its jut extra baggage. There are no men or pimps about ... well maybe their agents.
The women have high heels on, now not personally but I know getting back home from a Saturday night out with those on is very unlikely, so avoiding laser beams and getting past that one member of staff in that huge building would be impossible ... no don’t expect the theme tune.

The leather would get sticky and sweaty very impractical, it’s like they want to seduce their viewers? Can you imagine doing that in a music video

So NC Media Production ...

So NC Media Production ... having a bad experience at the last college I was at, I was worried about fitting in with the students and settling into the work provided for me. Fortunately they tolerated me and the work was enjoyable.
I came to Stenton Adam Smith wanting to do radio and with these interesting, enjoyable experiences in radio I have just become even more excited on the idea. I am comfortable with the equipment working with the equipment in college and outside college.
But coming on this course had other benefits, being a taster course we looked at every opportunity, every form of media. We worked with Graphics with Graham, we worked video with Pat and Tina, we worked with digital imaging with Lorraine, we worked with ray with photography and of course why I chose this course, I worked on radio with Ricky. I have my favourite subjects, I have my least favourite subjects like any other student but I have enjoyed the experience, I thought I would have loved photography but it wasn’t for me, this course taught me that, so I’m grateful for that lesson.

I really enjoyed Graham’s graphics, the work was very enjoyable and Graham was a great tutor, it was a great experience. Enjoying the subject was a surprise for me because Computers and I don’t get a long, but it was fun.
I get a long with my peers and work well with them, it’s a shame that this class will be splitting up going into HNC/ HND Radio next year but with this creative, sociable course I believe next year’s new friends will be again similar to me.
My outlook on HNC/ HND Radio next: I’m very excited about it; I think I will do well in it. With what I have learnt from this course NC Media Production in radio and media analysis I am confident I can be of interest to my tutors and listeners.
I am glad I have taken this taster course because it just proves (to myself) that I am really wanting to progress into professional radio and now instead of being apprehensive about jumping straight into a 2 year course I am confident and very excited about the course

Is healthy becoming unhealthy?

I want to start off with models, now what is the purpose of models? To sell clothes, to make Britain’s peoples’ clothes look good, good enough to sell to Britain’s people. So why is that the models don’t represent Britain’s people? Now obviously they want to set a good example, so okay don’t make the models 20-30 stones that Britain seems to becoming but that doesn’t mean, you give Britain’s people an unreachable goal of becoming the size of these models.

Nowadays when we look at models, we don’t see a reflection of ourselves in those clothes but rather a skinny “better” looking person wearing the new-in-thing.

Some want to become these air-brushed “people” so they push themselves too hard, they starve themselves striving for “perfection”. But what happens when the unreachable dream is suddenly realised to be exactly that, they punish themselves, life is no longer optimistic and your friends, your family, all of their concerns and worries aren’t valuable anymore, your ambition, your dream is no more.

Exercise. Some families cannot afford to spend hours upon hours outside with their children, having to do couple of jobs, a few jobs, parents can’t afford to spend hours running and dancing about in the park. Instead parents are worried and working towards keeping a roof over their children’s heads. Football practice costs a lot to put their children in, but just set a good example (don’t let them smoke weed).

Diet. We are told go here and you can get all of this for this amount of money, once a week maybe? But constantly having mum or dad in the kitchen doesn’t always work. People get fed up, cooking then becomes a chore, that cheap microwavable meal or cheap frozen dinner is easier to cook. These adverts for healthy eating just seem like snobs and the drive for the children’s good healthy food is lost.
The bar is too high for our Britain, 500 people all fighting over 1 job should tell us that every minute, every pound is valuable and until the government realises that not through choice but through simple math (whether we’re counting minutes or pounds) we are going to keep picking the unhealthy, cheaper option.
An unreachable dream soon becomes an unwanted dream,
Being healthy is becoming unhealthy

A monster's act on man's best friend

I usually just don't serious blog like the ne you are about to read but I needed to get my opinion on this story.
A dog was shot 40 times with shot gun pellets and then left tied up, left to rot in a shallow grave.
What sicko could do such a vile thing, such a friendly animal, that I believe we (as human beings) should take care of. And then I read these horrible, nasty stories that we were created by disgusting monsters. What is punishment for such an awful crime? One year in prison! ... oh and a fine that could go up to £40,000, what a joke!
The look on that poor dog’s face in these pictures nothing but fear, will it be able to trust a human being again? It was just so depressing. We are told the dog is on the mend but that dog will never be the same, will one year of a prison sentence have the same effect? Probably not but I hope so.

These fiends ... these monsters should be considered a menace not only to our neglected animals that should be should be properly taken care of. We as human beings should have more control over that an animal is far away from these creatures that could either be that “person” you pass on the street or even one your neighbours. If these monsters can do such sickening things to defenceless animal who says they can’t do similar acts to you or your loved ones.

How on the floor by jlo ft pitbull is an awful example

Okay this Jlo song here are the problems with the song:
Ok first of all animals shouldn't be allowed in night clubs to tear up the floor, they would wee and crap everywhere(not ideal).
Drinking on the dance floor is usually a bad idea, you dancing, jumping about you could spill your drink on someone,
Grabbing somebody to take them on the floor unless your a gypsy this is very much frowned upon,
Criminals should not be killing anything or anyone on the floor,
Stealing whether it's quick or not is a bad idea
and why is the French word for the "several" times is beyond me. Being sick or even dying on the floor would you get chucked out ...
Oh yeah and pitbull is in it
interested in this, then go ahead, please just go on my Facebook page "confused and bored" best describing the creator of this page MOI, so check it out!

School history, history

A journal written by a Fifer, educated at the universities of St Andrews and Edinburgh, Nimmo taught at Fortrose Academy, near Inverness, before becoming rector at Inverness Academy.
In 1804, he was involved in carrying out experiments to try and record temperatures deep below the surface of Loch Ness.
Nimmo gave up teaching in 1811 to become an engineer.
Thomas Telford, the famous Scots engineer and architect of the Caledonian Canal, asked him to carry out survey work for the Commission for the Bogs of Ireland.
Nimmo died in Dublin in 1832.
In Alexander Nimmo’s journal we can read about going around Inverness-shire and around the Highlands whilst the massive changes were going on.
The highland clearances started in the late 18th century and continued into the early 19th century, so this journal is very appropriate to be used in high schools up and down the country.
With the highland clearances and migration being a major part in history subject in Scotland and all being witnessed by the author Alexander Nimmo and recorded in this journal. Copies across Scotland should be distributed and used as a mass benefit instead of it being a neglected and yet a very important piece of Scottish history.

Does a stadium really have soul?

Hearts have been met with the decsion either to plough more money into a sinking ship that is Tynecastle or to move on with the times and bulit a new larger, updated build.
Tynecastle has been with the Heart of Midloathian for 125 years where understandably they experinced the highs and lows like Romanov coming to the club, I'm going to let you decide what catergory he fits into.
But with a such a historic stadium full of memories and success with Hearts being the team that they are, Tynecastle is old and and to invest around 20 million pounds into one stand should be a sign to the deluded Tynecastle campaigners.
Hearts have the oppurtunity of to built a new stadium and this may only be rumours but there is a lot of talk with them sharing stadiums with Scotland rugby club. What a oppurtunity! Now we shouldn't always look at the awful state Motherwell and Gretna's shared stadium when looking to go into these deals. It's a brilliant oppurtunity and just to have the pride of sharing stadiums with the national side would be incredible. In my opinion Tynecastle is finished and so should the campaigner's attempts. Move on, Tynncastle might have a soul but it's the fans that create that, the fans that will carry that on wherever they end up.

What is the difference between this and the nosey neighbour tweeking the blinds?

A spotring icon rediculed, a major example that has inspired the world and mocked. Affairs happen all the time, but through hard work and dedication that created such a magnificent career Mr Ryan Giggs has turned into a role model. What that basically means is: he is no longer human, he is no longer allowed to get drunk with his mat, he’s no longer allowed to make mistakes.
What was revealed at the house of commons (a place of politics) was a mistake. I’m not one to give advice to such an icon but if he has fallen out of love with his wife then he should have split up with her because no longer is it his problem but now his family’s.
Now the house of commons (a place of politics) decides how we live, making major decisions that influences every person in the United Kingdom, so why are they discussing social gossip. Why was that distracted mp talking about twitter, the law is the law and revealing on English national televison was breaking it. Now with sites like the one you are reading right now had already revealed the star’s identy, the English media show not had braodcasted this. In case you aren’t aware the injuction was ruled over Scotland so the Scottish Herald (although sneaky) were allowed to reveal the man’s name.
Not only that but let’s look at it from Imogen Thomas’ angle, why did she do it? Out of spite? Did get media coverage? Because now I am noticing her name is getting taken away further and further from the scandal, a scandal that should nopt be discussed by our responsible mps at their work place, instead they should be sorting the wide variety of crime or maybe preparing for the damages that would have been caused due yesterday’s weather here and across the pond.
It is none of our business what people get up to after hours, Ryan Giggs is a footballer, I watch him play football. What is the difference between this and the nosey neighbour tweeking the blinds?

the computing generation

Facebook
. Have you made friends from it?
I haven't made friends over Facebook I believe it can help friendships and make a lot of progress on possible relationships. It helps you in awkward situations, that you want to deal with
. How do you feel about people making friends over it?
I think it’s wrong, of course you can see you can see friend request’s mutual friends to you and assume that person requesting permission to go on your secured page (if you have been smart enough to have secured your work).
. How do you feel about your photos being broadcasted around the world?

I believe my photographs are secured but not 100% sure. I am not vulnerable to any creepy people wanting to perv over my photographs. But if I had a child on in it (Facebook is very popular with the young ones) I would be very unhappy.
. Does it annoy you reading up non-valuable statuses? For example what you’re having for dinner
I hate it, I go on Facebook out of boredom and want to read about how my friends and the Facebook friends (friends I spoke to for about five minutes one drunken night or someone I haven’t spoken to since I left high school). I don’t go on to read pointless music lyrics or that they just had cheesy pasta for dinner.

. Do you like typing up everything that you’re doing?
No, I just attempt to type out funny stasuses or important news about myself they don’t need to know the last time I went to the toilet or that I am about to go to bed
Would you pay for the service?
No way, infact it would probably do me favour, less pointless distractions that way
Are there anything similar to this coming through?
Of course Twitter if they made it easier for me to understand then maybe I would consider but I would the same problem before but with boring statuses except this time it would just be boring, celebrity tweets. Blogger could come close to it but it would just be the fact you write a lot more, people would treat it like a broadcasting diary. I think bebo has had it’s time at the top and is now old news.

Online phases: The internet is perfect for influencing and manipulating customers with a time consuming phase. Habbo came into my mind automatically, the amount of money I must have wasted. It was basically making a cartoon version of yourself, an avatar and basically mingling with thousands of others. Here's the money making part, if you want to chat to someone in private, like have a gossip with someone from school or chat to have you haven't seen for a while you have to take them to your room. Now to make your room good andf impress your friends you have to pay £2.50 for credits that young people like me where minipulated to do.
Online gaming
. Do you think this replaces real social interaction?
I do, because your focussing on a game and the only time you socialise with your team mates it about the game. In real life situations like at college you have breaks where
. Why do you think it is addictive? Like meeting friends down at the pub and you are persuaded by them do you think this the same using chat?
. Is it just seen as a second life for these addicts when really it is just escapism from their own?
“With recent mishaps with bank details a public information going walk-abouts can we really trust them?
Watching a part of a chat show the host and two other guests were blaming the third guest (a representative of video games) for gun crime in this country other violent acts and basically most of today’s problems on gaming. Is it fair to blame one influence? You blame neglectful parenting, the negative media (you have to kill someone to be recognised nationally) the violent movies that is provided by well respected adults or basically just human nature in general, our nature of greed (to want more) or aggression (when we get angry and want to break something). Just look at our violent history did they all have the “violent, evil” consoles we have today?”

The Swinging Nowties

Hello this is James and today I will be playing some amazing tracks from Dean to Michael be presenting THE SWINGING NOWTIES as from the title you have can already assumed I will be talking about swing, but with modern dance and overrated pop I want to prove to you that swing is still with us and with these great tracks, either getting repeated or replayed they always will be.
A good example of classic swing getting repeated is the next one, this is my favourite version, this is Dean Martin Sway.

Dean Martin- Sway-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsgL35RCGcc

A song understandably done by many acts, such as Michael Buble, Pussycat dolls and the new modern musical show that is Glee. Now love it or hate it the hit programme Glee is massive and any song that is sung on the show will be on the charts and played over mainstream radio. Sway is one of my favourite songs and is the perfect start to the show. A great song followed by a brilliant new act.

Probably my favourite modern day swing act, an act that is very much alive in my household and after this in yours too. This is the excellent and in my eyes underestimated musician Leon Jackson. Just in case you somehow haven’t heard or can’t remember the young Scottish sensation Leon Jackson I’ll tell you about him: Leon Jackson won the young target audience nationally viewed competition x-factor back in 2007 with his soon to be Christmas number one “when you believe.” Although very talented being born in 1988, now 23 so young and good looking the young girls across the country went crazy over him, so more attention, but his music is why I picked this artist in my swing selection. To prove to you how good the gentleman from Stirling I had to pick this song, here is Leon Jackson with Creative, enjoy.

Leon Jackson- Creative
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QWwUyUPLr0

Another heart throb, don’t worry there isn’t a routine this time he’s Canadian. It’s just a coincidence that these musicians are all handsome. But enough about their looks I’m getting jealous. Now for a man with such a career he is young at thirty five but to make such a he needs to create a very impressive fan base. A good way to win them over fans would be his concerts that are well known for being incredible. A big part to this is that Michael manages to create a friendly, interactive environment. A very memorable moment as a viewer is when Michael Buble was convinced by a mum to bring her son on stage at one of his concerts. He said “what the hey! Bring the kid up and we’ll sing together.” The kid belted out some power singing and blew Michael and the crowd away. The boy got excited and they sang it again and the crowd went wild. A memorable not only for me as the viewer but the boy, that’ll stay with him forever, a bit like you and this show, this my farewell I hope you have enjoyed the show but I’m leaving you with in my view Michael Buble’s song here Michael Buble with me and Mrs Jones

Dunfermline Athletic open day

We have contreversial mascots and a brand new SPL side so the excitement for the open day was good.
I managed to catch a lot of the players at the Dunfermline Athletic open day advertised by Dunfermline's local paper and the local, well known radio station. As expected Dunfermline Athletic just getting promoted up to Scottish Premier league the atmosphere was great and the weather eventually cleared up to a brilliant, annual occasion.

Thankfully for the new thriving journalist they were happy to tell me how they felt to be going up to the best division in Scotland, the SPL:

As mentioned before the weather was typical Scottish summer weather, raining. So like the rest of the fans I went out in the bad weather proving our dedication as fans but with all honesty bad weather wasn't the only knock to Dunfermline Athletic Football Club proving the fans' dedication but what does it mean to the players?:

But what does Dunfermline Athletic Football Club mean to the fans? Can a sport influence and change peoples' lives? How important is it for their club to playing the best teams in Scotland?:

But how does the club affect the players? Surely winning every game at home in front of their dedicated, loyal fans would help their confidence and with the manager's faith and trust and hard working staff and well thought out tactics this should help the player's ability, but how do the players themselves feel about how their progression of ability due the club?:

My day at the BBQ

I am a man, yesterday I became a man, yes that's right I looked after the barbeque. I flipped a burger and pushed round the sausages, ok I had a purple shirt on but I made up for it because I pretended to know what I was doing at the barbeque.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WcAfiKXmOw
Yeah that’s right that’s the song, I now deserve :D
We even cooked bacon the barbeque, was it cooked right? Well it remained white and pink but it had brown lines going through it, so yeah we’ll go with that but I didn’t eat one.
Basically I struggled on throughout the day not eating and was filled up after one burger and cider :D
Then we left and went for the hike to Templehall, I’m not joking it was a hike. People collapsed, I started crying, it just got too much for me, that near mile walk just got too much for me.
And after all of this I asked myself why didn’t we just take the bus?
I’m over the ordeal, though one person has got long term problems from it … sun stroke but we’ll see how she copes.
This was our BBQ, I don’t know if I can look at a burger the same.

What a western weekend!

what a Western weekend! A royal international weekend and Bin ladin the force of evil died and we all got Friday and Monday off what day, what a day to be British.
The spitfires were out again ... for the royal wedding, yeah that's right I actually watched it. We had a party, my mum put up a quite a good table full of food. Imagine your mum goes "I have got you crackers" you can imagine my excitement and then to be crushed ... there was no cheese, this was me. She had salmon mousse and paté I didn't know what to do?! So instead I just went hungry.
Oh and we laughed at that demon child, with my friend going "not even a sniper would take her out"
Oh and a wee bit gossip on Monday morning, I work in a corner shop where all the converstaions revolve around the weather or whether or not we're happy (that on a Monday morning is usually negative) so the death to all the routes of all evil cheered us up and people over facebook finally had something interesting instead of their favourite song's lyrics but so many jokes :-s
And as a nation we were allowed to get drunk on a Thursday night without any consequences unless you were flying that spitfire, can you imagine if that flight went wrong :-s
oh and it was Lily Allen's birthday ... just saying
What can i say it was a very Western weekend

Contagious yawning

On Tuesday I was spreading the word of yawning after a member of the class yawned (only yawning out of tiredness not boredom :D) then after she yawned another member of the class yawned and another and another and another. Then a member of Shaun refused (tried to refuse to yawn) and tried fight against the yawn but like the accidental baby it just happened.
I even made a song about it, do you want to sing along with it? … deep down you want to… here it is anyway:

Imagine there's no sleeping
It's easy if you yawn
No matress below us
Above us only that boring ceiling
Imagine all the people
yawning for today...

You may say I am yawner
But I’m not the only one
Some day you will yawn with us
And the world will yawn as one

And then I thought to myself what if the world all yawned as one, we would all suffocate, the world would be full of carbon dioxide and no oxygen to be breathed, think about it … As you read this if your not in a crowded room, get that web cam on or if you don’t have a web cam go downstairs and yawn, soon you will experience contagious yawning.

How Adobe Photoshop is AMAZING!!!

Before being introduced to this amazing tool, the class were asked if anyone knew Photoshop automatically I doubted that Photoshop and I would get along, it meant more computing for me.
You can get rid of red eye, so that "my son is the son of the devil" fiasco every family has
You can merge pictures together for either constructive, educational benefits good examples would be digital imaging, making posters etc.
Or funny, stupid benefits an example could be putting a squirrel in an army costume and making a speech bubble with the words inside “tell my wife I love her.” One of the many great, stupid benefits which I enjoy and is the reason is why I was obsessing about this on the bus to myself and thought I will do a blog of appreciation.
But I’m the only one that I can’t get over this amazing tool, the band amazing ad modest “Everything, everything” sang the (distracting me of an important college lesson) song “Photoshop handsome.”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5h2LRvBQ5Q
That band as well as the vast millions of us loves Photoshop.

Jeremy Kyle (I'm not a fan)

He started off in radio and because there was room to exploit the mutants (sorry the willing volunteers to ridiculed) across Great Britain. Don’t get me wrong its funny entertainment but after so, so long the same story getting repeated over and over again gets boring. If there was a talking doll for Jeremy Kyle the quotations would have to be
“Put something on it the end of it!”
“Get a job!”
“You see that, it’s the Jeremy Kyle show!”
If these delinquents listened to these screamed out ramblings Jeremy Kyle would be the one out of the job.
Although the stuff is real unlike the American Jerry Springer show and is possibly the only good thing to watch on day time television, the guy is only it for himself, pretending to be interested and caring for these things, I don’t like false people and he is definitely one of those people.
Not only that but getting his goons to bully the victim back onto the stage finally using the nice guy approach to lure back on the stage where he just yelled and humiliated the guest isn’t not nice to watch the victims are too stupid to realise that this nasty man is simply exploiting this either cheating partner or junkie or in many cases both.
And to finish it all off he says the word literally too many times
“Their world has been literally torn apart”
“They have been literally torn apart”
They were only literally torn apart after fighting outside the dirty, cheap night club at 4 o’clock the morning before.

OMG the weather

The weather outside is so gorgeous, I almost want to take it out for dinner. Finally after snowy weather and the weather where it looks hot and so you go out with just a shirt on and run cowardly back into the house for a jumper, it is now awesome. But now I just want to embrace it, maybe even going back to the playground ... ok I might burn, maybe not.
But it is so nice … (get ready) I'm not wearing my coat I know wow but wait a second … sitting down yet? … I haven’t even brought my coat along with me today, I know OMG right?
… But nah I have a jumper, I’m not that crazy :(
And spring just starting off right now, what’s up with that! I might just write a letter

Football the beautiful game

The beautiful sport has always been a passion of mine and many, many others. I was watching a champion’s league game with my girlfriend and she said they're just kicking the ball from one side of the pitch to the other and so I tried to explain why it is so much more; To get past the opposition you have to use problem solving skills, the stronger the opposition, the better the problem solving, the better the football ... I didn't win her round.
It also creates a belonging of people and brings towns or fans from around the world together, the bigger teams and games creates social international gatherings.
Some of my memories have come from football whether it's the national cup matches or just the kick-abouts that we created as children with a simple football and made up goal posts. With the inspiration from the footballers (idols in many cases) it is really easy to play yourself, using what you have just seen either at the stadium or on the television. Just get two jumpers and a football and there you go, let the magic happen.
This weekend Rangers and Celtic played each other, over the past few weeks they has been very bad press of them (deserved) and they were threatened by the police before the game any more trouble and the staff could face arrest on the pitch but there was no trouble.
Instead the game was a massive success, a brilliant match, end to end football, no trouble, all the news was at the back of the papers instead of the front like it had been, and instead it was just a great example of what football really is, an entertaining sport not the tantrums that often gets mistaken for passion. Instead I believe passion is biting the tongue and doing what has to be done at the best quality possible.

The news of Japan

For such a global and disastrous situation and the aftermath I will be serious. I will start talking about listening to radio 2 a phone-in has a son who was in Japan at the time. She said that he was not personally phased about it, okay that’s very bizarre but a point of view that we the curious viewer wouldn’t have heard this. We all paint a picture of Japan just making an assumption that everyone is devastated and that everyone’s’ lives would be destroyed due this. In the reporting news we are only seeing the devastated pictures and videos of the after-math but we are not hearing the voices of the people, instead we have the blogs. The blogs are varied and different rather to the same news that keeps on repeating the victims escaping the rubble that was their homes. We know these unheard voices exist through blogging and are being ignored by the media which I was relying on.
We are just told the devastating facts not the peoples’ stories.
http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2011/03/16/the-days-most-popular-stories-219/

In blogs we have seen simple blog messages such as “I survived Japan’s massive earthquake” http://uk.jalopnik.com/5781018/i-survived-japans-massive-earthquake
Something so simple, imagine it was you, with all of the chaos around you, so much chaos to quite understand so this message, now this could be the thought behind the peoples’ message.

Scenes that make you go WOW!

Smoking Aces
The movie goes on a bit, now like a story but for an action movie, all the action is saved for the climax at the end, but it's when the police officer and the hotel imposter are in the lift together (he's a serial killer). The police officer can notices a distinctive thing about the man's finger tips (they're chewed off) as he sees the finger tips he realises this is the man he has studied and knows how violent and dangerous this really is. Knowing that he has to do his job, knowing the deadly consequence he pulls out his gun to arrest the serial killer (the serial killer facing the lift door away from the police officer). The serial killer sees the gun in the reflection and so he slides his his kife down his sleeve undetected. At this point you know it's going to kick off. The police man asks his last question "so how long have you been working here" they both know the serial killer an imposter and the police officer wants to arrests the serial killer, they both get shot up very badly, just an amzing scene
Frequency
An amazing movie can't get over, how amazing but to the scene. It is about a man Jack Sullivan and he manages to back in time to talk to his dead Dad and the man tell him what he needs to do to avoid death, unfortunately because of the Dad’s actions a serial killer is saved and carries on killing these innocent people, investigating the bodies they find out that the cereal killer that is still alive to the Jack’s day. Which brings us to our WOW scene, finding out that the Dad was investigating the cereal killer finds steals the dad’s wallet and finds out where he lives and attacks his family (Jack Sullivan and his mum) back in the seventies. But in our time the same serial killer (but older) has also discovered Jack Sullivan (grown up) was investigating them. Both having their radios on listening to each other speak both Jack Sullivan and his Dad’s family are attacked and can both hear it through the radios.
The bit that sticks out for me has to be when the serial killer says “time to die Sullivan” and is heard through the radio. After that in the seventies the Dad shoots the serial killer’s hand off which, so in the future where the serial killer is dominating the fight he soon becomes shocked at what he sees (his hand disappearing because what happened 30 years ago) the same hand that held the gun for him to shoot Jack Sullivan with.
The Dad shooting the serial killer’s hand off this scares the cereal killer away and so the Dad lives onto the present day where he shoots the shocked present day serial killer saving Jack Sullivan.
Now I know these are just words read on your monitor screen but please just get this movie and love and appreciate it, you won’t regret it.

Star wars the phantom menace
Obi Wan the apprentice to Qui-Gon Jinn fight Darth Maul the challenging assassin to the two Jedi. The fight scene is unfortunately interrupted by the war with Jaja binks and his army but still incredible. Darth Maul is so strong and powerful he manages to fight off the two Jedi but with the two he doesn’t quite mange to kill either of them but gets his chance. With a laser force field he finally gets the chance to kill the older master Jedi Qui-Gon Jinn and does so. Teasing Obi wan as Obi wan watches his master dyeing this sends Obi Wan into a rage and this where my favourite bit comes in. The quick light saber movement and the inredible music to long with it, you’re left amazed watching it. Obi Wan falls down the shaft and as the viewer waits for the apprentice’s doom the quick thinking of Obi wan looking at Qui-Gon Jinn’s light saber Obi wan uses the force to pull it to himself at the same time as throwing himself up over the villain and in two movements Obi wan slices Darth Maul in half and you the viewer are just sat there amazed at what had just happened.

The Matrix
Neo just died and the audience's trip with the main character, now when he died I thought this movie could be one of these movies where it's just a devastating ending.
Neo being the one and the only hope and inspiration to his comrades, the comrades just give up in disbelief, so everyone of us are just shocked but with the words and kiss of his love Trinity brings him back to life. But he is so much stronger and relating to the scene from before where Morpheus describes the one to Neo saying he could stop bullets this incredible scene says and shows us all what we had been waiting for, we realise that he is the one. Destroying agent Smith we just sit back and appreciate this awesome scene and movie.

Another awesome scene is when Mouse dies. They have found out that the Matrix are near and they all know they have to escape, Mouse isn't with them though and realises too late. He looks for a way out, out the window but it's bricked closed, knowing that he is trapped and the Swats are quickly coming he picks up two machine guns and shoots crazily as he gets shot to pieces by the Swats.

Movies that suck ... not just my opinion but now your's

The Marine
Ok I should have guessed this, when my Dad said it would be good. Loads of action but the story line was just awful. It's all about John Cena's wife (that's right wrestlers I should have just refused the movie right there) getting kidnapped by bad guys. Bad guys that are fine killing other innocent people but instead of killing her another innocent civilian that has nothing to do with them. They for some reason waste their time and energy keeping her hostage getting a lot of attention from the immortal John Cena. No it's not a sci-fi but some how just John Cena can just survive these massive explosions, just ridiculous but the worst scene has to be when the really bad guy Robert Patrick is nothing but bones literally, it’s so, so awful.
If it was a comedy, it would have been successful, because the lack of effort and skill in this made me ask myself, should I just turn this off and go out for a jog … and that’s saying something. Just avoid this movie.

THE EXPENDABLES
The best action cast ever assembled shame about the story. A cheesey romance between stalone and a woman a third his age, and the same with a anti-surgey advertisement. A very awkward scene with Arnie, Stallone and Willis which made me consider about getting up from the counch and helping out in the kitchen.

The explosions and deaths were impressive but a big question is why would the very evil, very wealthy bad guy be interested in a poor South American country, it doesn't make any sense. Why would an American organisation be interested? Is there oil there?
Just rating the cool deaths, well they are awesome so an 8/10 for that but the rest of the film, just no ... just ... no

Will Ferrel, man or god?

Elf
When we think of christmas movies, we don't think funny but cheesiness. Elf manages to relate to both with Buddy the Elf's stupidy and the humour throughout that captures the interest of all generations. Buddy the Elf realises that he is not a wierd six foot elf, but a human being. The story is about him finding out what life is like in New York and him trying to fit into his family (with his Dad who is on the naughty list). It is a lot funnier than my description, it's awesome.

Old school
An older version of American Pie, it was really funny though, but Will Ferrel was not the leading man for a change. He was the drunken divorcee living the student life doing crazy college stuff. There's a really funny scene when he returns the toaster to the friend who gave him that toaster and the awkwardness when it's brought up. A good movie but not the biggest role he's had.

Anchorman
The arrogant, stupid journalist, works in the male enviroment and just hilarious (I don't think we'll ever see Will Ferrel playing a serrious role). Working in the male of enviroment of journalism back in the 1970's. The unbelievably stupid man has more credit than the female journalist but it's just hilarious. The song afternonn delight by Bucks Fizz was just incredibly funny and now when our generation hears this song automatically we think of Anchorman. It's awesome! (Vernon Kay agrees so meh, it must be true
My favourite quotes are:
"I am kind of a big deal"
"I am Ron Burgundy?"

Blades of glory
Awesome movie, Chad Michael Michaels is hilarious the sex addicted figure skater is hilarious my favourites quotes have to be:
"Get out of my face"
"I'll get inside your face"
"The night is a really dark time for me"
And other lines I don't want to quote as I'm getting marked on this.
Just what he does makes him hilarious, a movie I would say if without him may have probably been very rubbish. He's just such an influential role in this movie.

He just seems to always make his characters incredibly funny, in some cases making a movie what it is because of his roles.

The influence

We all talk about leaving our mark on the planet but that mark is influenced. Everyone of us is influenced by someone or something (just look at the Robert Bruce (Dunfermline and Scotland hero) he was influence by a spider to carry on with thewar on England. A good way to see this is looking through the people of the different eras. Different times of history have created many different characters for example Adolf Hitler would have gotten to power nowadays, a major factor for him getting to power was Weimar Germany collapsing , not being able to afford a loaf bread and the German peoples’ trust in the government being trampled on due the treaty of Versailles and then a man talks of a “positive” resolution. As so This country gives in to the man’s slur s, if he was around now he would be humiliated over question time.
The Roman empire wouldn’t work now due the alliance system and even homosexual icons like George Michaels and Boy George now I know Boy George’s father beat him up and the rest of brothers were working class boxers but he found other eccentric people who could relate to. He inspired homosexuals to feel comfortable about themselves but if we was around in the 18th and 19th century he would probably have remained plain old, unhappy Mr Smith with the neglected wife. My point is we’re all influenced and inspired to become the men and women of the world, nowadays the majority of us are inspired by a controlled media. Although we find the “individuals” parading the fact they hate the government and what the media is doing to our fragile minds what made them think this way.
We’re all blank canvases, we don’t make our own minds up it is done for us, through little seeds in advertisements, television, the internet everywhere you go, you cant escape it just accept it or live in denial. These seeds are planted by the painter of our canvases just be hope your painting is correct or rather the same as everyone else’s.

My opinion on movies ... so the important opinion

Batman the dark knight
Wow, this movie is fantastic Heath Ledger was fantastic, so creepy and yet captivating, the only other actor that managed to produce such a fantastic character was Sir Anthony Hopkins with Hannibal. The perfect timing, planning and how he controls a whole city is incredible and believable. I want to go on and on about how amazing Heath Ledger is as The Joker but that would be neglecting Batman himself. But just to finish up on the extremely talented Heath Ledger I have to mark him on this 10/10 and just a very, very disappointing shame he is not with us anymore.

Bale as Batman is brilliant too, his arrogance as an actor shows on the extremely wealthy character Bruce Wayne which is a very important half of Batman. Him as Batman though, awesome too, he is probably my Batman, next to George Clooney. The story was incredible, the acting brilliant, another just amazing movie 9/10

The Matrix (the 1st one)
Ok a movie I can watch over and over and over again. Non stop action, non stop entertainment, just incredible. I love every second of this movie, certain quotes of the film just make me go oh my god this is incredible! I finding myself quoting it with Neo. There isn't a lot of drama in the actions what they do in the movie, that you see in most movies but it does't need it, it would ruin it. Truely captivating, it's got everythig and more I want in a good action film and don't understand a guy that doesn't like this, non stop action, the lack of emotion would annoy and lose attention of the female audience (if sexist, not meaning to be just an observation I have noticed) but for me it's incredible.Ok every movie has it's flaw, no movie is perfect, does Neo or Mr Anderson not have any relevets or friends that may miss him, even maybe he might miss them, no mention of it but maybe it was better that way missing that out. None the less I'm just going to do it, it's a 10/10 truely epic!

Baseketball
Next to Hot fuzz one of the funniest movies I've ever watched it's from the creators of South Park so automatically there you expect good things and it does ot disappoint. I have my cousin Ryan to thank for introducing me to it. It's about two wasters who hate the thought of a lot of exercise, so create a sport between baseball and basketball which doesn't require a lot of excerise. It's just hilarious how the two guys bully their very unfortunate friend Squeek and just the lines and near enough every scene is just hilarious. A certain store is selling it for £3, so a big laugh with immature, hilarious humour you shouldn't miss out on this another movie I urge to watch, I'm starting to guess I will urge you to watch a lot of films but you just have to.

Frequency
A movie that is under appreciated, frequency has to be one of my favourite movies. It's about a man (a cop) living in the ninites who lost his Dad as a boy with his friend's son finding his Dad's old radio (which his Dad used to use a lot of the time) bored the man goes on it and the frequency to due a wierd storm finds his Dad.
Finding a his Dad through this back-in-time frequency he tries to save his Dad tellinh him what to avoid but with doing so things change and a ruthless serial killer is saved and so they both try to save these victims (one of those victims being the man's mother). With a lot of action, I always find myself captivated by it, although I've seen so many times. The story line is briliant, the acting is briliant and just a briliant movie. Infact if I fake being ill I can probably go home and watch it now. I'm going to rate it 9/10 or 9 and a half it's incredible, maybe a fim because a lot men can relate the relationship between the man and his father. An amazing movie that I urge you all to watch

Talking about Snatch with my friend Colin we were going over names like Peaches and Cream but stuck with the Colin and James' podcast. Ok so snatch, if you're not usually into gangster movies this one can still entertain you. Okay it's a guy's film, guys would find it funny, guys would understand some of the characters who don't quite understand what's going on but pretend to anyway (and hopefully not relate themselves to characters like Brick-top). The coolest character gets killed off at the start but even with that kick in the nads the movie still is amazing 9/10

COLIN!!!!  JAMES!!!!

we were going over names like Peaches and Cream but stuck with the Colin and James' podcast

what's happening to all the old pubs?

I live in Dunfermline and grew up appreciating the big group of men surrounding the bar with the tradional friendly-bantered bar maid. It was dark and the carpet was was now a very dirty, dark shade of red or was it green?
The smog of smoke and and the greeting of jeers and cheers would be the introduction to this tradional, casual, comfortable, social outing. In one particular pub (my Dad's local) everyone knew everyone, it would bring the community together and would make buying a newspaper with a hangover the next day less awkward because you can attempt conversation with your friend.
A very masculine memory where all the husbands and dad's would pop in from work or walking the dog hiding from the wife. A very masculine memory but a good memeory personally because it was with my Dad now being able to legally drink and fit into the slurring mob it has all gone, all changed.
The smog of smoke band, the comfortable, slurring group of males now well-presented with their wives being careful of what they say as they have to sleep on the counch aftewards. It's funny shaded of red or maybe green is laminated flooring. The one bar maid who knew is a part-timer going and coming back form university. Even the locals are changing, the orignal faces are rarely there due to health warning and lack of money.
Have they matured and realised that the wife doesn't belong in the kitchen?
Has the pub itself changed not aiming themselves at a paricular niche and making a much larger amount cutomer?
Or do I just miss the feeling my Dad and I had meeting and talking to my Dad's friends?

I believe that the small pubs are wanting to be the trndy bars in the city and that in doing so they are losing their souls and replacing with an emptiness that perhaps does bring in a lot more money. There are still trdaional pubs open for business but soon they will give into the temptation of a larger profit maybe due to the taxes always soaring up.

All I have to say to finish this post off is I'm going to miss the tradional pub.

Why are we to blame for yobs "with nothing to do"

With the young gangs going about vandalising, underage drinking and even killing innocent citizens are the government and councils really to blame. There are many different organisations here to give us the start in life we need as children into adults like the Boys Brigade for example:
The Boys Brigade has been a big influence in my life, most of my mates are from the Boys Brigade growing up in that social enviroment with them has given me the chance to make alot of friends over the years, it has taught me discipline and how to work well as a part of the team. It has given me the chance to work for and achieve awards such as the Queens Badge and soon the Gold Duke Of Edinburgh award. Because of the Boys Brigade I have been able to go hiking, camping and various different sports and to achieve awards at these sports. I am very thankful for the Boys Brigade and really appreciated my time there as a boy and appreciating my time there working towards becoming an officer. Being lucky enough to have such a briliant experience I would urge any boy to join and to discover what we the Boys Brigade are all about.
There are female equivalents and from my personal experience I know there are plenty of opportunities for us young people and really gives no excuse for misbehaviour.

What are they playing that?

A perfect example is the suffragists and the suffragettes who remembers the quiet, hard working suffragists? The extremists suffragettes were vital with their unpeaceful and were recognised, not ignored by the ignorant dominant men of that era. We "Great" Britian get messed about with finances wanting the poor to remain poor branding us all scroungers. Hopes and ambitions are being taken away from us and  I just don't believe peaceful riots work, Egypt taught us this. Maybe the people up at the top should actrually listen to us rather than trying to brain wash us with ignorant snobs bad mouthing us.
